Bangkok Cannabis
Guide 2026.

The current laws, where to buy near the BTS, what flower actually costs by the gram, and which dispensaries stay open all night. Written by the team behind Thai Terpz, a 24-hour dispensary, bar and lounge on Sukhumvit next to BTS Ekkamai. Last updated June 2026.

// The law

Is cannabis legal in Bangkok?

Short answer: yes, with rules. Thailand removed cannabis from its narcotics list in June 2022, and in 2026 it is still legal to buy and consume in Bangkok through licensed shops. What has changed is the framework around it.

Three things matter most for a visitor in 2026. You must be 20 or older to enter a dispensary or buy. Purchasing cannabis flower currently requires a valid prescription from a licensed Thai practitioner, which licensed dispensaries can arrange in-store, often same-day. And smoking in public can still be treated as a public nuisance, so consumption is meant for private spaces or licensed venues with a lounge.

Rules in this space move quickly. Any dispensary worth visiting will explain the current process at the counter and handle the paperwork for you. If a shop cannot, that tells you something.

// Where to buy

Where to buy weed in Bangkok.

The Sukhumvit line is the centre of gravity. The densest cluster of dispensaries sits around Ekkamai, Thong Lo and Phrom Phong, all walkable from their BTS stations. Sukhumvit Soi 11 and Nana cover the nightlife end, On Nut and Phra Khanong the more local end, and Chinatown has its own scene.

For Ekkamai and Thong Lo specifically, the practical pick is whatever is closest to the station, open when you need it, and honest about its product. Thai Terpz is one minute from BTS Ekkamai and never closes. See the dedicated Ekkamai dispensary page for directions.

What separates a good shop from a tourist trap: flower weighed net in front of you, prices by the gram rather than vague "deals", and staff who can name the genetics. Net weight and per-gram pricing are the two things to check first.

// Prices

Cannabis prices in Bangkok.

Everything is priced by the gram and scales with quality. As a 2026 baseline across Bangkok dispensaries:

Everyday

From ฿100/g

Thai house flower. Solid daily smoke. At Thai Terpz this is the Premium tier, strains like Alien Mint and Ice Cream Cake from ฿100 a gram.

Exotic

฿400 to ฿700/g

Named imported genetics, the heavier hitters. Gary Payton, Lemon Cherry Gelato, Gumbo and similar cuts sit in this band.

Craft

฿2,900+/eighth

Rare imported craft from named farms like Beasy, Wizard Trees and LA Family Farm. Thai Terpz lists these as Exclusive Exotics.

Bundles bring the per-gram cost down. A typical example: 3g of exotics for ฿1,000, or an ounce of a house exotic from around ฿3,500. See the full Thai Terpz menu for live Baht prices across all three tiers.

// Open late

24-hour and late-night dispensaries.

Most Bangkok dispensaries close between midnight and 3am. A genuine 24-hour shop is rare, and useful: jet-lagged arrivals, after the clubs empty, night-shift hours, or simply not wanting a closing time to decide when your night ends.

Thai Terpz opened in 2022 as Thailand's first 24-hour cannabis dispensary and has stayed open every hour since, with full menu and full staff at 4am the same as at 4pm. More on that on the 24/7 dispensary page and our breakdown of weed shops in Bangkok open 24 hours.

// Lounges & bars

Cannabis lounges and bars.

Because public smoking is restricted, the venue matters as much as the flower. A lounge gives you a legal, comfortable place to actually consume. A smaller number of spots go further and pair the dispensary with a bar.

Thai Terpz is one of the few that runs all three under one roof: a dispensary, Bangkok's only cannabis cocktail bar, and an upstairs lounge with consoles and a pool table. The full picture is on the weed lounge in Bangkok guide.

// Practical

How to visit.

Bring a passport or government ID showing you are 20 or older. Cash and QR scan are both standard; cards are less common. For flower, ask the counter to start the prescription process when you arrive. No prescription is needed to enter, order a cannabis cocktail or use a lounge.

If you are heading to Thai Terpz: 604/21 Sukhumvit Road, next to C Ekkamai, one minute from BTS Ekkamai, open 24 hours. Plan your visit here.
